Yeah.. Let me give you some facts. Girls are ganas when they are playing football/futsal/whatever. This is just something in-built, something like a mode which you switch on and off according to the situation. Serious. Some responses from the guys after seeing how girls play futsal..
1. "Their eyes are always looking at the ground, searching for that stupid ball and at the same time trying to identify which are her teammates' legs. Crazy."

Well well.. after all this kicking and hentam-ing the poor ball.. the great news is.. The Firehawks won the women's open category in GT Futsal Cup 07'!! Awesome man! I just couldn't believe that we actually did it! Wow!

Why so semangat for futsal? Haha.. it started on a Saturday about 2 weeks ago when the church announced that we will be having this GT Futsal Cup thingy. ERm.. after the service...
Me : Eh, SueLing, our cell.. let's go for it, man!
Sue : Eh, really ar? Want or not?

Sue : Ok.. Are you in?
Me : Definitely!
Haha.. that's it man. I kinda started up the 'fire' to take up this challenge, lagipun I haven't played a proper futsal before. Last Saturday morning, we had our first practice at the field in front of SUFES office. That practice was fun, something like Just Kick It in campcam and I continued my keganasan. Thanks to Coach Marwan and Thomas la, giving us some intensive training during that 2 hours. Hmm.. without much practice during the week(although a few of them when to practise in a futsal court on Tuesday), we just went la for this futsal competition.

Now, let's talk a bit about the game on this beautiful 31st March. Hehe...
We had the first game against a bunch of secondary schools kids, Jesus' Princesses. Erm.. I played defender in the first half, then switched and became the goalkeeper in the 2nd half.. Shucks man, bocor and let in 2 goals.. my mistakes.. Isshh.. And so.. we lost our first game 2-0 to the Princesses.
2nd game -- we played against the pastors-church staff-team. Erm.. this time I was a defender la. Hehe.. we won 6-1. Don't la say that we didn't give face to the pastors and leaders ya. Just played for fun la coz we thought we can go home and no need to play anymore knowing that later the pastor-church staff team will play against the Princesses. If the pastor-church staff team lose to the Princesses, we really can go home d.
Mana tahu.. in the game between the pastors-church staff and Princesses.. The Firehawks' hope was revived! The pastors-church staff team won 2-0! Hmm, itz amazing that they beat the young girls. Don't you think so? Karen and Ps. Gwen were good. Karen was super ganas. I didn't know that till both of us were in the field. She hentam my leg man. Anyway.. We really cheered gila hard for the pastors and church staff coz we need them to win so that we can masuk semi-final. Haha.. And with all the counting of scores, number of goals, win or loose.. we tak jadi balik rumah before lunch la. The Firehawks were in for the semi-finals! Hooray!

After lunch break..
Here comes the semi-final.. Firehawks(a bunch of black-shirt fella) vs Power Puff Girls(a bunch of pink-shirt fella). This time, I was the striker, together with Eleena. Captain SueLing was the goalkeeper. The game was super tension. Everyone was ganas basically. And a PowerPuff girl was injured.. dun really know what happened la. In the 1st half, I was waiting at the left side of the D area and someone(shucks man, I couldn't remember which Firehawk) passed me the ball.. ALrightttt..!! And with my right leg and some empty space I spotted..
GOALLLL!!!!! Thanks to that someone! =P
But.. the joy didn't last.. shortly after that.. the Power Puff Girls found an equaliser. Aikss! This sent both teams into an even more tension situation -- 3 penalty shot for each team. Issh... Both teams scored once. I was the 2nd to take the penalty shot and I missed it coz I kicked too soft. Shucks! And then.. here comes the horror man... There were 8 in my team, 7 in the other. All the team members took the penalty shot. Itz so darn hard to put the stupid ball in to the stupid goal. But SueLing really did a wonderful job! She blocked the balls with her chest la *ouchh*, caught the right direction the ball comes.. Wahliao... And after much tension with no goals from both teams, here comes the 8th penalty shot. The Power Puff girl missed it. And itz my turn again coz I scored during the game. Shucks man.. itz darn stressful..

Me : Put it in, man! Go for that stupid corner and kick darn hard, k?
Me : *sweat* yeah...
*Beeeeeppppp......! Boopp.....! GOALLLLL!!!!!!!!
That's the way man! We made it to the finals with 1-1 and penalty shot 2-1. Yeah!
And then the finals! Do you still remember the Jesus' Princesses? Yeah, the Firehawks met them again in the finals. This time we came with different strategies -- mark them darn ketat. SueLing was the goalkeeper again coz of her cekap performance. I teamed up with Eleena as strikers and MeiFong and Li Yin were the defenders. Haha.. we prayed before the game started. Fuiyoh. Again, everyone was ganas, so no point telling you who was the most ganas of all. I missed 2 or 3 chances to score although its a good passing from my teammates. Nevermind. But one thing, the kids were good, really. But.. haha.. we don't care anymore and just go all out and play coz we have made it to this stage. During the 2nd half, I was somewhere near the left side of the D area, a Firehawk passed me the ball(again, I couldn't remember who was it). I got the ball and so many legs started coming in. *help me* Without much thinking, I just kicked la the stupid ball right thru the empty space with my right leg(I'm a righty, you see).
And....
GOALLL!!!!!! Yeah, again, thanx to that someone!

It was a super good game. From the beginning after loosing that first match we thought we can go home.. till we knew that we were in for semi-finals.. till we won the semi-finals.. Till we nailed the Princesses.. And feeling the weight of the gold medal around my neck *ahem, as if itz very heavy*.. And seeing Captain SueLing lifted up the trophy... taking pictures with the trophy and medal.. Amazing! Really amazing! I always see that in football matches .. I couldn't believe that I actually experienced it myself.. Ahemmm...
Yeah, really want to thank all the Firehawks man! They really put in their heart, sweat and everything into this game. Some of them kena muscle pain but still continue to play. Hahaha.. Itz worth it. I really enjoyed myself in all the matches.
